![]() It is more commonly found in tropical climates that are warm and humid or people who are in wet environments regularly. It can cause Otomycosis, which is a fungal infection of the ear which can be difficult to treat. Yeast is actually a fungus and having it in your ear is not good in the least. #2 Headphones and Earbuds can Encourage Development of YeastĮarbuds that have been shared have been found to have yeast on them, and yeast grows extremely well in warm dark places making the ears a perfect place for yeast to be found and yet another reason for earbuds not to be shared. We often think of wax as protecting our ear from germs and bacteria, but when you share earbuds tiny bits of earwax are likely to be shared as well, and these bits can actually help carry that bacteria from person to person. This is especially true of earbuds since they sit inside the ear. If you or your friend have any kind of nasty bacteria in your ear, you’re going to be sharing it if you share headphones or earbuds. #1 Headphones and Earbuds Can Carry Bacteria It is both convenient and makes financial sense in many situations, but after reading the next section, you’re sure to think twice. There are some pretty compelling reasons to share headphones and earbuds. Reasons Not to Share Your Headphones and Earbuds This clearly makes financial sense because buying a set for each computer costs far less than buying one for each student, and asking students to bring their own can be a real challenge. Institutions like schools may have a headphone for each computer in their computer lab, but not one for each student. This is especially important if you prefer to buy high-quality headphones with high-end sound quality. #2 Sharing Saves Money in Families and Institutionsįamilies can save a little money by having their children share headphones or earbuds when they are using a computer or other device. Without added accessories, there is no way to use 2 sets of headphones or earbuds on the same phone, even if they are wireless. The safest way to do this would be to have an earbud designated for each person and to carry a method of cleaning the earbud before and after use. One person will take one side of the earbud and another person will take the other side of the earbud. Whether you’re on a plane, in a car, riding the bus, or sitting in a public space where blasting sound out your phone would be rude, sharing earbuds is a convenient way to watch a movie, listen to music, or enjoy a video with a friend. ![]() It is natural to pass an earbud to a friend so they can listen in to on a video you’re watching or a song you’re listening to. We’ve all likely shared headphones or earbuds with a friend or family member at least once, and many people do it regularly without a second thought. Continue reading to find out why sharing earbuds and headphones probably aren’t the best idea, and also how to go about sharing in the best way. Sharing earbuds is even worse than sharing headphones because earbuds are set inside the ear cavity, which makes it prime real estate for germs and bacteria. Sharing earbuds that don’t fit may cause discomfort. ![]()

If your car battery has corrosion on it, you will need to get rid of it. Battery corrosion can be caused by a range of different issues and can cause a variety of problems for your car, including a considerable drop in your car battery's lifespan. Our certified technicians will perform a diagnostics test to help determine the condition of your battery. If you’ve opened the bonnet of your car and noticed a greenish/white fungus looking growth on the terminals of your car battery, this is a sign of corrosion. However, to find out precisely the condition of your battery and an estimate of when it may need to be replaced, visit your local Tires Plus for a battery check. To help you get an idea of when your battery should be replaced, the virtual car battery tester can help give you a rough estimate. These issues can snowball into bigger problems, which are more annoying and expensive! Further, it is difficult to see the level of internal corrosion from the outside of the battery. Get a battery check.Ĭorroded battery terminals often go hand-in-hand with other car battery issues - like frayed cables and leakage. If the professionals at Tires Plus determine that corrosion is the only problem, they can perform a Battery Guard service to clean the corrosion from the battery and protect it from coming back. If you do spot any corrosion on your battery terminals, it’s best that you get a professional opinion from your local auto technician as to what the cause may be. Yuck! You can help keep this unsightly battery terminal corrosion at bay by adding the corrosion protection package when you purchase a new battery at Tires Plus. Wear protective gloves (or just don’t touch anything) and use a flashlight to help you spot irregularities.Ĭorrosion looks like a flaky, white-to-greenish grime, which may remind you of crusty mold on a piece of bread. Locate the battery and make note of anything that looks out of place, including frayed cables, a bloated battery case, leaks, and corrosion. Visually inspect the battery.īattery corrosion is typically visible - which means you can check for it yourself! Take the key out of the ignition, let your car cool down, and pop the hood. A visual inspection can help you determine if you’ve got corroded battery terminals or a different issue. However, don’t just assume you’ve got a corroded battery! These symptoms could be caused by problems other than battery corrosion - such as misfiring spark plugs or a failing starter, which could also cause slow cranking. Notice symptoms of battery corrosion.Ī corroded battery will make itself known! If you notice symptoms of battery failure such as slow cranking, dim headlights, or if you can’t start your car at all - a defective battery might be to blame. ![]() Additionally, since battery acid inevitably releases hydrogen gas and electrolyte vapor, corrosion can’t be stopped entirely, but it can be delayed with proper battery care. A third type of corrosion known as sulfation occurs internally within the battery over time.īattery age, over- or under-charging, and excessive exposure to certain elements (like salt or moisture) can all make your car battery corrode quicker. A second type of corrosion occurs between the cables and the battery terminal posts since they are different types of metals. Hydrogen gas, which is naturally released from the battery may also allow the acidic electrolyte to condense on the top of the battery. The most common cause of battery corrosion is from electrolyte or electrolyte vapors emitting from the top of the battery. When a battery becomes corroded, energy can flow less efficiently through its terminals, causing you to notice a decrease in battery power. ![]() Once the engine is running, the alternator takes over the role of powering your car and its electrical functions. ![]() Through a series of chemical reactions, batteries convert sulphuric acid into bursts of electricity - which flow out through the battery terminals to start your engine. Learn why battery corrosion happens, how to identify it, and what to do about corroded battery terminals. But just because corrosion is common, it doesn’t mean you should settle for poor battery performance. Metals are naturally inclined to corrode, and the metal in your car battery terminals is no exception! In fact, corroded battery terminals are one of the most common causes of electrical problems and decreased battery performance in cars. While the execution was ongoing, at least one other member of the Yakuza was present to observe the events unfold. During the course of the struggle, a fire was started and, while Maseo was distracted by his children, Takeo killed him with the Soultaker. The young Yakuza associate spent days preparing himself before taking both swords to the Yamashiro residence, demanding his brother duel for the "prize" of Tatsu. He was presented with a pair of matched swords, one of which Takeo favored due to its mystical properties, which would come to be known as the Soultaker because of its ability to trap the souls of its victims within itself. Meanwhile, Takeo rose in the Yakuza's rank, and one of his exotic tastes included ancient weapons. However with the Soultaker, Takeo was able to overpower Tatsu with relative ease, before he could strike a killing blow, the Soultaker had a change of heart and chose Tatsu as its new wielder. In an attempt to avenge her family, Tatsu attacked the murderer. Using the sentient Soultaker Sword, a mystical Japanese artifact, Takeo butchered Tatsu's husband and two daughters. In the end, Takeo found Tatsu and her family and burnt their home down to the ground. Fearing Takeo's wrath, Tatsu fled to the countryside in a vain attempt to avoid the murderous brother.
